Vurdering for Note Sidebar for Firefox
Note Sidebar for Firefox av Stefan vd

- Vurdering: 1 av 5av Seedypoet, 6 dagar sidanIt's a little buggy with text disappearing before I can save it sometimes. The save function doesn't work as I cannot find a way to retrieve the notes I've saved. Sometimes they are there, sometimes not.
The design reverts back to default (removing changes) if you choose rich text instead of plain text. Took a while for it to correct itself.
Also, the shortcut key for strikethrough is ctrl+shift+s. But this is a native shortcut for screenshots. So, you can't use it without triggering a screenshot.
Addendum:
I didn't post this review because I was looking for support. I was posting my experience with the extension. But since the developer included support...
I did not want to save through sync. That is why I chose local instead. It also doesn't indicate if using sync connects automatically, or if I can turn off the connection. I do not want this extension communicating with my other devices.
"That means you override the saving limit, you changed too much within 1 minute."
^ I have to wait a full minute just to change a setting?! Serious flaw. Never seen that issue before.
"This option was added for Chromium-based browsers."
^ The settings clearly state Ctrl + Shift + S is for windows as well. And Ctrl + Shift + X is also a Firefox shortcut that cannot be changed.
I downgraded my rating because the more I used it, the more bugs I found.

|| The save function doesn't work as I cannot find a way to retrieve the notes I've saved. Sometimes they are there, sometimes not.
If you use the Note Sidebar Firefox extension Options page -> Advanced Options -> Storage => set to "Save notes in sync", then it should save the text well. But it must not be a long text.
In Firefox, there is a bug report:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1385832
Update:
|| The design reverts back to default (removing changes) if you choose rich text instead of plain text. Took a while for it to correct itself.
That means you override the saving limit, you changed too much within 1 minute. Then the Firefox web browser will not save all the new settings. You have to wait 1 minute. Then you can set your new settings value. That is the limit of the Firefox web browser.
|| Also, the shortcut key for strikethrough is ctrl+shift+s.
Firefox and other browsers never established a standard shortcut for strikethrough. This option was added for Chromium-based browsers. Do you want to use Ctrl + Shift + X?
Update: The latest Note Sidebar Firefox extension changed it to Ctrl + Shift + X.
Update:
The chrome.storage API works the same across all web browsers. It prevents toggling or changing too many values within a single minute. This is not a flaw, but part of the web browser’s design for extensions.
I take all feedback seriously. This free and Open-Source Note Sidebar browser extension has been built with the help of user feedback. For questions or bug reports, please use this page:
