- Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 13475572, 17 dagen geledenSomething has changed recently that causes Firefox to slow to a crawl when this is enabled. CPU and memory utilization look normal. Even local web pages that normally load in milliseconds now take seconds to load, and often as much as 30 seconds for a normal page load.
This is badly broken! Disabled.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

2 maanden geleden geplaatstThanks for reporting, the fix is currently being reviewed by the Firefox team. Hang tight! - Waardering: 2 van 5door TheGuiltyJoker, 2 maanden geledenI've been using this for a few months now, and I love that it blocks and alerts me to unsafe websites.
However, recently I've been getting alerts from FireFox telling me that this addon is slowing down the browser.
I have no idea why this is happening as I haven't changed anything, so I don't know if it's an update that has caused it, but it needs to be investigated otherwise it's likely people could disable the addon.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
2 maanden geleden geplaatstThank you for reporting, we are currently working on a fix; this is indeed a bug in the addon. We will get this out as fast as we can. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Gregg, 2 maanden geledenThe July 9th update has broken browser guard. It freezes everything and simply does not provide any benefit. In fact, I am now paying for something that breaks functionality across my browsers. I have no other extensions installed, and everything was fine before the update.
So I am paying for a service that actually causes vulnerabilities... Pretty unethical. I'll give it a few days for a hotfix... But there are other options that actually work so... Please fix this... I hate paying for things that actually make me unsafe...Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

Reviews by the Mozilla team take a bit of time, so please bear with us. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Flower, 3 maanden geledenThe only purpose was to make me scared >:/ It gave me info from 1 month ago, when I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THIS ACCOUNT- and just acted like I had malware IN my computer when I just looked at a infected url.

It's not our intention to scare you, I'd love to hear more at support.malwarebytes.com, so we can identify the weak point that caused this reaction. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 13888099, 3 maanden geledenIt's handy sometimes, but lately it's been far more annoying than helpful. It does this thing to prevent clipboard hijacking where it gives a popup whenever I copy something, and then prepends "[SUSPICIOUS CONTENT]" to the start of the clipboard, and I do a lot of copy-pasting; so the only thing hijacking my clipboard is this extension.
I removed its clipboard permission to stop this, and now once or twice a day it will hijack my browsing session (usually in the middle of watching a video) to open a new tab and ask for permission back.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

9 maanden geleden geplaatstThanks for letting us know, we have more performance updates coming. - Waardering: 2 van 5door JD6T_P6, 9 maanden geledenI've been using "Malwarebytes Browser Guard" for a couple of months, and I've noticed a few issues.
There's no doubt it does a great job blocking malicious sites, trackers, scams, etc. But it also slows down the browser when I have several tabs open or when loading more than one tab at the same time. After testing, I noticed a pattern (at least in my case): the more images a website has (Google Maps, ArtStation, Pinterest, etc.), the worse the browser's performance gets. So, I went into the extension's settings and disabled its three main features (Ads/Trackers = Off, Malware = Off, Scams = Off) for each of these sites, but to my surprise, it didn't work—the sites were still slow. I assume that Malwarebytes is still scanning all the links on the site, but the fact that this happens even after disabling those features feels like a big flaw. Hopefully, it's just me not knowing how to use the extension properly, but for now, I had to disable it.
At first, I thought the issue was related to my browser's cache or something similar, so I reset the browser, and that fixed it temporarily. However, once I reinstalled my extensions, the issue came back. After testing them one by one, I found out that the problem was caused by "Malwarebytes Browser Guard."
This wouldn't be such a big deal, but I use the aforementioned pages a lot and at least I think that many users also use Google Maps and from my experience, that's where the issue is the worst.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

We are working on performance enhancements, keep an eye out for more updates. - Waardering: 2 van 5door wietop, één jaar geledenThe extension works most of the time, but every time I go to weather.com, it freaks out and I just keep getting redirected, with the numbers on the icon going up like crazy. I've cleaned my cache, I have the latest version of the extension, so I don't know what the issue is.

Keep an eye out for 2.6.27. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 17221368, 2 jaar geledenApp can be handy to have at times, but has on a handful of occasions been the cause of issues while web browsing. Either by severely impacting performance or by causing pages to fail to load correctly (most recently being Outlook.com), I think I'm done having to troubleshoot browser issues only to realize it's this add-on causing the problems.
- Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 12344652, 2 jaar geledenIt's currently breaking major retail sites like Wal-Mart and Home Depot. On these sites, Home Depot for example, if I search for a store item and go to that item's page I can see it for a few milliseconds and then the page just goes white. The only thing that fixes the issue is disabling this Add-On. I tired disabling all of my other add-ons, clearing the page's cookies and cache but the issue is this.
To test it for yourself go to HomeDepot.com, search for dewalt toolkits, and select one. Then try to look at the item. This add-on prevents me from doing so and makes the page solid white in both Firefox and MS Edge.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar

- Waardering: 2 van 5door WDP&HS, 4 jaar geledenMB Browser Guard is selective in it's blocking. Went to update my MB subscription and discovered only by reading the source code that I was being tracked by adobetm.com. This add-on was running even for private pages and gave it a clean bill of health. Go figure!

We have added adobetm.com to our block list. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 14721471, 4 jaar geledenHorrible, broke websites from loading certain sections, is not able to catch all trackers either.
- Waardering: 2 van 5door Firefox-gebruiker 15605482, 4 jaar geledenCouldn't figure out why on many retail websites, the "Customer Reviews" section of the page would be missing or not work.
Once I removed this this add-on, the reviews appeared once again.
No option to white list websites so I just removed the add on. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Larbo, 4 jaar geledenI don't know what has changed but I can no longer see reviews at Costco.com on Chrome and only turning off this extension (or going Ingognito) fixes it? Bug???

4 jaar geleden geplaatstHi there!
Thank you for providing us with the website link. I was able to verify what you stated.
It is being caused by the Ads/Trackers blocking feature of Browser Guard.
The review link may have an advertisement or tracker link 'baked in' which is being blocked. For now, when you find one of the review links that do not work, click the Blue M icon in the top right of your browser to open Browser Guard and turn off the slider for Ads/Trackers.
Reload the website and the reviews link should load. - Waardering: 2 van 5door Ty, 5 jaar geledenUnfortunately I encountered an issue with this extension that automatically cancelled my image downloads. There was no way to fix this, so I had to uninstall this altogether. If there was an option to turn that off, then I'd give this 5 stars.
Other than that, this extension served it's purpose of blocking access to shady websites which I really appreciated, but that download cancellation thing became too annoying to deal with.Antwoord van ontwikkelaar
5 jaar geleden geplaatstHey Ty, you're right, that is annoying and I'm sorry you had this experience! We've identified the source of this bug and we will get it fixed as soon as possible.
If you decide to reinstall the extension, you can workaround this bug till the fix is live. Click on the extension icon and temporarily disable "Scams Protection" on the page you want to download from.
