why does this add-on need, only (permission) it ask for " Download files and read and modify the browser’s download history"

The permission to download files is an optional permission that you will be asked for if you save a backup of your settings. It's not technically a "download" because everything is already on your PC but Firefox considers the saving of any file to be a download.

does not work for firefox. the only option that worked - is customizing colors. and that is irrelevant, I can do it by myself w/o any extension.
