I copy and paste the news about problem ads. You can find down on any video, with extension active, click to bell to read: "In September, Twitch started to fight ad blockers, including my extension. The extension uses special tricks to block ads. In turn, Twitch blocks every trick it seen. After that, I need a few days to find a new trick. Plus, you need to wait until the new version of the extension will be published in the store. Google and Microsoft require up to 7 days, Mozilla 1 day. All this time, you see ads in the expansion player.

The number of tricks is limited and at the moment Twitch has blocked almost everything. Therefore, in the next version of the extension, I will add a more reliable, but less effective way to hide ads. During the ads, playback may pause for a few seconds and you will see the message “Skipping ads”.

Unfortunately, Twitch rarely shows ads in my region, so I cannot test the ad hiding feature myself. I need volunteers to test the beta versions of the extension. They should: be able to think logically, often see ads in the extension, install extensions not from the store (I will give instructions), describe the test results in detail. I decided after having issues with Twitch again today to give this addon a try. Now I remember that I've tried this addon before for Firefox and I wish I could say that I could give this more than a 1-star but it doesn't work. I've tried figuring it out to be sure it wasn't me and I checked the other reviews here, but other folks seem to have problems getting this addon to function and play a live Twitch stream. To the author of the addon, if this addon worked once before, it sadly did not work for me more than a year ago and doesn't work now.

Once good, now terrible. Can't make a simple update to view 1440p streams. Trying to open more than 1 player at the same time takes ages. God forbid you try to load a few streams at once, you might as well go read "war and peace" before they load.

Works great overall! solved some buffering issues with some of my streamers. For a feature request, I was wondering if it would be possible to add 7TV support as currently I need to use Chatterino seperately to be able to see 7TV emotes in chat. Thanks for all the hard work!

Unfortunately this extension is getting killed. First on chrome and now it doesn't work on most streamers channels. RIP Alexander you really helped hope you can come up with something new

Doesn't show followed channels, drops don't seem to work? Chat is constantly reset to light mode unless the "less features" option is selected. No option to minimize player size.

Its ok, i have issues with the chat not popping up and havin to go into task manager and force shut down if firefox and somethimes that works

Could have been great, but inexplicably changes the entire UI while watching a stream. Dark mode is only remembered with less chat features, and it recommends changing to Dark Mode via Twitch.Tv which appears to just not exist. Navigation is completely removed and is changed to an options list to click through, completely useless change. It removes all of the panels below the stream, another needless change. If this kept something at least moderately similar to the base UI of Twitch, or options to customize it, this would be great. It ruining the UI makes this nearly unusable for me unfortunately. Lastly, it didn't really even help with the stream delay. The base delay with this player was longer than when default is just buffering.

Thank you very much for the addon, love it. In the last 3-4 days a problem has appeared, the chat has stopped scrolling. It does not want to scroll either automatically or manually, just freezes in one place. Probably Twitch as usual changed something and this affected the addon.

pros: no ads or random pauses, instant playback, customizable/tons of options, off-load chat, pretty seamless integration.

cons: delay is longer than the default viewer, no replacement for the sidebar showing who is live/following, 2k/encrypted streams weren't working but idk if they patched it, can't get 7TV/emotes working but I could just be stupid.

alt player is good for lurking/watching but the delay & difficulty getting emotes may ruin it for active chatters. very good for clippers/editors since it has playback. im not really sure if drops/gift subs work but i assume they do if you have chat enabled.

Since it doesn't retain the list of channels one follows next to the player, it is very annoying and strange to deal with. So I'd have to lie to give it a good rating. I want to give 1 star, but give it 2, since it can hide Twitch ads - although there are other means to achieve that. And it provides replay, or more precisely access to the live VOD. This was also possible on Twitch in the past by clicking on a link within an instant clip from a stream that's still live. I think this functionality would also be better as a separate addon, instead of using this strange, inconvenient player. What's also annoying is that the dark mode of the chat always gets reversed when one hides the chat.
P.S.: Since I can't answer to the developer's answer... Whatever he means by "instant replay", if there is anything else than "Rewatch this broadcast" where it opens a VOD link at a specified amount earlier, it's impossible to find anyway. Probably he has just another definition of a "VOD link", obviously it's still live but works just as a VOD when it's no longer live. But this is not even a criticism as such.

No, instant replay is not VOD link. It works even on channels without VOD.

Doesn't work with encrypted streams, so it can't get a better rating until this is fixed.
