    Since version 3.0 AVD provides a Native Application used for communication with browser extension, configuration files and required dependency libraries which are no longer supported by Firefox.

    Used it for years on my Mac and loved it. Now it quit. Made mistake of updating. Now nothing works! How can I go back to Mac version that has a working ant video downloader? Thanks! I think I was on version 36 or 37

    You can install old AVD version in Firefox 56 and below from Mozilla website here: https://addons.vaultpit.io/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/versions/

    Please note that you need to disable AVD automatic updates in this case. You need to go to the Tools - Add-ons menu in Firefox, select Extensions tab, click on More link at Ant.com Video Downloader field and check Off option in the Automatic Updates row.

    It makes FireFox for iOS useless if you CANNOT DOWNLOAD ADD-ONs for it. This makes NO SENSE IMIGHT AS WELL NOT USE MY FAVORITE BROWSER.

    WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THE BEST VIDEO DOWNLOAD ADD-ON? Firefox version 60 and ANT is TERRIBLE. Before, you "played" a video, the ANT icon "moved" telling you it found it, was ready to download, it gave you several size/resolution options and you choose one and wallah, it appeared in the DOWNLOAD WINDOW. By using PREFERENCE YOU COULD change the DOWNLOAD location and do this in seconds.
    The new one in version is CLUTTERED, NO preference option I could find, no LOCATION OPTION, pages of "stuff", WILL NOT ALLOW TO DOWN LOAD MORE THAN ONE COPY, let alone more than one SIZE for one to check download difference in resolutions to see which to keep, deciding on resolution versus size of file....
    I have fooled with it for an hour and STILL can not get the hang of this TERRIBLE, UNNEEDED COMPLICATED MODIFICATION. BAD, BAD, BAD, you really screwed it up this time. THANKS for nothing.

    We are continuing to work on migration AVD to a new platform and returning the habitual appearance, new design will be improved in the next major release.
    Current AVD still have option for changing location at the AVD tab under the Downloads section as far as option to select all detected video resolutions.

    The older Ant Downloader was the bomb so to speak. It had the downloader symbol on my toolbar. And I would click it and it would download and show my windows download icon downloading the file. The newer version, brings you to a page and when you find the file to download it, good luck on finding it, after it says it downloaded it. This new version is basically shit! I know that you had to update it to work with new versions or Firefox, but this new one is pure crap! I used to brag on your downloader and sent many people to your site to get it. But now I hate it. I have been trying it for months one end, and have had to reluctantly download another video downloader, because this one is now junk!

    NEVER WORKS, USELESS INTERFACE, INCESSANT UPDATES THAT ALWAYS OPEN A NEW TAB, REQUIRES AN ADDITIONAL FEATURE THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DOWNLOAD.

    Everytime I try & run this addon to DL a video in FF v. 57, I get the following msg.: "Native application is not installed. In order to download streaming videos you need to install native application.
    Would you like to install it now?" I then DL said app, & install & refresh page where I wanna DL an video, & it still continues to endlessly give me the above msg. It just goes in circles & never accomplishes anything! It USED to work in older versions of the browser, but sadly no long does in newer versions for unknown reasons! Fix this already, would you guys?!

    It doesn't always work. It drives me nuts. About half the time, it only downloads the title, and an empty file. sometimes, I can go back, and download the file. sometimes, if I try three or four times, it will find files to download. It seems to be completely random. I hate it.

    This app worked for a couple weeks, it downloaded videos no problem. Then suddenly it told me I needed another plugin. I scanned it before installing, it was clean. But since installing it I'm getting constant malware attacks! Do not use this app!

    Native Application is totally safe, you can check it with any antivirus software.
    It is used for installing configuration files and dependency libraries for downloading and merging streaming video pieces.
