DeGoogle works best with the privacy-protecting Tor browser. Versions 48+ of Mozilla's official Firefox browser are also supported.

DeGoogle's diagnostic DeGoogled tag gives a convenient visual cue to whether or not the add-on is functioning correctly. If the DeGoogled status indicator does not appear in the top left corner of google.com search pages, then refreshing your browser and/or clearing its cache should allow DeGoogle to return to correct functioning. • Trigger automatic loading and running of the add-on's content script
• Prevent google.com's JavaScript from ReGoogling previously-DeGoogled search links
• Bundle the DeGoogled status image with the add-on vs fetching it over HTTP
• Functional test the common code in Firefox and in Chrome-like browsers
• Remove even more Google-generated tracking cruft from search hit URLs
