Open external links in a container szerző: Denys H

I've never posted a review before for a Firefox add-on, but this one is so elegantly implemented (and so sorely needed) that I felt compelled to do so.
This add-on is a simple solution to a vexing problem of how to force a bookmark to open in a specified container every time. Kudos to the developer!
If it's not entirely clear from the add-on description, once you've installed this add-on, you can replace any Firefox bookmark with the ext+container command syntax and that bookmark will always open in the specified container automatically. For example, if you have a bookmark to www.google.com that you want always to open in your Google container, first make sure you've created a container named Google, then right-click on your bookmark, select Properties, and change the location from https://www.google.com/ to ext+container:name=Google&url=https://www.google.com/
One note to other users: If your container's name has any spaces or other special characters in it, you have to urlencode the special character in the command (like replacing spaces with %20). For example, if you want your bookmark for www.bigbank.com to open in your My Banks container, the bookmark would be ext+container:name=My%20Banks&url=https://www.bigbank.com/

közzétéve: 5 éveThank you very much! I've never posted an extension either :) Regarding the bookmarking functionality, I plan some improvements for it (keeping the extension lightweight and the main functionality intact of course) and I will update the description accordingly.

- I wonder why basic functionality like this aren't implemented in containers by mozilla! Great work, with additional option 'network.protocol-handler.external.ext+container' set to true in about:config which removes prompt on every link opening with this extension. Allows to create a bookmarks which opens in specific containers. Thank you!
- Beautiful. Want to open a bookmark in a container tab? Just use:
ext+container:name=MyContainer&url=https[:]//mozilla[.]org
(eliminate the brackets around the colon & period] Then, search network.protocol-handler.external.ext+container in about:config and double click it to set boolean=true, and you'll eliminate the nag screen!

It's normal to 'disapear' page icon when change path to url in bookmarks into e.g.: ext+container:name=MyContainer&url=https://mozilla.org ??

Are you planning to add something along the lines of detecting a potential container?
For example, we assign a container to a domain:
*google.com* -> google container
And if, for example, we click on a url call matching the pattern in another program it will open us automatically in a specific container.
Think about this, it would be a brilliant solution! - Csillagos értékelés: 5 / 5készítette: Firefox felhasználó 18251720, 2 éveNew Firefox update added a warning each time a tab is opened, someone on github seems to have found a way to make it not appear. https://github.com/honsiorovskyi/open-url-in-container/issues/121#issuecomment-1869443971
