par Chris_G, il y a 7 moisI've been using Proton Pass for over a year now and my experience has been excellent. I've found that a lot of security products don't focus - or sometimes even offer - protections against physical access to your device. Proton and their products are an exception to this. It's possible to configure Proton Pass to require a 6-digit pin to access after as little as a minute from your previous use. I've also found the feature for hiding your email particularly useful. Some websites won't accept the emails it generates as valid but most will. It allows you to use a different address for each sign up which can all forward to the same proton mail account. The individual emails can also be disabled at will - so if one login gets compromised by a data breach or other you can just disable that email and prevent your inbox from being flooded. It's replaced my old system of creating a new gmail account every so often. I highly recommend this product. I use the paid version as it was included with my Proton Drive subscription, however I'm certain that like other proton products the free version is completely sufficient by itself.
I also can not sing the praises of Proton enough. Proton is a rare company in the realm of cybersecurity products in that they - at least in my experience - genuinely exist with the sole purpose of helping people by providing high functionality products. I've seen so many other cybersecurity products that do little more than provide a borderline false sense of security while relying on fear-mongering advertisements to generate sales and proton is one of the few exceptions to this. I think this is best attested to by the fact that the free versions of their products include all of the most important features and are self sufficient - rather than being designed as funnels into their subscription service.

For some reason, I have no idea why considering bitwarden is open source, but bitwarden would take 10 minutes or more to open on my linux computers. I was sick of it. I tried proton because I use their email platform. Most people can totally get by with the free version. For me, I needed the paid version and I am happy with it. I literally save everything in there. Proton is a good company. When they do something, they don't over complicate it and they do it right. Everyone knows privacy is their thing so there's that too. Easy 5 stars for sure.

It's not a difficult computer science problem - it just requires that Proton put in the work to make it function. I have no trouble with Bitwarden. Also, where is the damn generate button? I don't always want to generate a PW for Proton Pass. Sometimes I want a PW for something else. The code is in there - surface it to make it easier to get at. In general, I find Proton's security to be excellent but their UI/UX needs a hell of a lot of work. And yes, I pay full freight for DUO and Lumo+.

Keeps me in the same ecosystem and never has errors. Simple and easy.
