I'm sorry to hear. We are rather limited by the browser capabilities. If the ISP or country you're browsing from is blocking our domain, we cannot establish to connection to it in the first place.

I suspect the update issue is also related to some sort of firewall. If you contact [email protected] or [email protected] and provide the version of the browser extension you're using, from where you got it and the country/ISP you're from, we can try to find ways to circumvent it.

A screenshot of the prompt you get and HAR export of the browser extension network traffic may also help to find out if you can provide it also.

Please note that Proton also has a client that you can install on your device wich is more efficient in countries with anti-VPN filtering rules.
