fantastic plugin for those who work with many tabs and open windows on firefox. essential for workflow! - Se valoró con 4 de 5por octulio, hace 2 añosIt's an amazing addition to my browser. Only complain i have is: why make it so you have to type "/stash" in a box to stash the window instead of having a dedicated button to do that? It feels so contradictory to the rest of the extension, because of how fluid and intuitive it is in general.
Other than that, it is a great extension that feels as it could be a core part of the browser. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Jbbr, hace 2 añosIt's taken me over three years to discover the existence of this addon, and I'm so glad that I have. In the ten minutes I've been using it, it's doing everything I need and has immediately become indispensable. I'm totally loving the slash command controls.
It just remains for me to install it on all the other Firefox instances I use and perfect Firefox window workflows are enabled everywhere.
Lionel, you are an inspired genius, thank you so much for this; much respect to you. :)
PS: How do we trigger a Mozilla review and recommendation for this exceptionally brilliant addon? - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Mike Lei, hace 2 añosThe last missing piece of Firefox window management. Seamlessly integrated with the tab bar and carefully designed to every detail. A must have extension if you want to leverage the full power of multi-window browsing!

I feel seen lol. Much appreciated - Se valoró con 4 de 5por Pedro CHV, hace 3 añosThis extension is very usefull. Congrat to dev. But... Latest update of firefox crashes recursively because of it. Solved the problem just disabling. Could you solve it please ??
And... I miss a backup option. If you start a new session, all named window groups are lost and you have to rename everything againRespuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 3 añosSounds serious. Could you please either click support site or email and give me more information like your Firefox version, OS, steps to reproduce the issue(s), etc.
As for the second issue, make sure you have "Open previous windows and tabs" on in Firefox settings. If you need to clarify this issue with more information, please do as well.
Update v2.1.0: Help now mentions this setting. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por nvasilev, hace 3 añosI think I finally found what I was looking for! Thanks!
- Se valoró con 5 de 5por CantStop, hace 3 añosIt would be nice to have /unstash %name% command, so that it would open new window unstashing a bookmark folder with corresponding name.

It just needs some kind of session management to avoid losing windows (it happened to me after closing and reopening firefox) and maybe storing windows to the cloud and be able to open just one window on another device.
Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 3 añosI suggest using a dedicated session management extension. I haven't made any plans to add such a feature in Winger but I will explore whether it's worth it.
Storing windows and opening them on another device is possible with the Stash/Unstash commands and synced bookmarks! - Se valoró con 3 de 5por Traegger, hace 4 añosI'm leaving a neutral rating of 3 stars, because I did not spend enough time with this extension to evaluate it properly. As soon as I started it, it renamed all of my windows to generic names, Window 1, Window 2, etc. This unexpected bahviour was enough to convince me that Winger is not for me.
By the way, it's also enough to convince me that it's time to take a look at Chrome and Edge. I've had a hard time finding any extensions for Firefox that I can actually rely upon. Something seems to be wrong with the extension ecosystem.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 3 añosI'm sorry about your experience, which you have emailed me about in more detail. What you didn't mention here is that you were already using another window namer called FireTitle, so no doubt you had conflicting extensions. I'm working on dropping automatic default names, and the option of yielding window-naming to other extensions in a future update of Winger. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por keedi, hace 4 años

and I think it is a problem that winger will change my window name by default, can I turn off it? because it will cover my previous title when I import windows and tabs.Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 4 añosYou can switch windows pretty fast with: F1 {first letter of window name} Enter. You can even add numbers in names if you like, so you can type F1 1 Enter, for example.
Do you mean that default names change after browser restarts? Yes default names are always temporary as mentioned in the help guide. It's a good point though; maybe Winger can just do without them...
I don't understand what you mean by "import windows and tabs". Please email me to discuss this further.
Edit: I'm warming to the shortcut idea :) - Se valoró con 5 de 5por Usuario de Firefox 13439647, hace 4 años

I use Tree Tabs (also fantastic) to group them, usually four or five groups per page. Up to now, the FireFox menu showed only the active tab name, which didn't always make it clear what window/group that was. Now it's easy to see which window is Personal stuff, and so on.
And wiith Winger I don't have to go to the appropriate page when a question pops into my head. Just open the URL, and send the tab to the page it belongs in. This is super helpful when you don't actually want to look at the page right away — kind of like a detour with no time penalty.
Winger works flawlessly with Tree Tabs, the documentation is clear and very detailed, and it's free! These add-ons together make FireFox so much handier than Chrome or Safari I could really live without them. Amazing Winger has only 28 users at this writing. - Se valoró con 4 de 5por S_Cabrera, hace 5 añosWhenever I restart Firefox, my window names revert back to Window 1, Window 2, etc. Is this by design?
Respuesta del desarrollador
publicado el hace 5 añosNo that shouldn't happen. Please email me or submit a GitHub issue ("support email" and "support site" on the main Winger page) and let's work out the problem. - Se valoró con 5 de 5por iudex, hace 5 añosI tried using windows to manage my tabs before, but it was complicated to move around them. This window manager is the missing piece to this workflow, I'm really glad I stumbled upon it!
