by Solemn, 4 years agoWARNING: If you use large numbers of tabs this add-on will frequently destroy the organisational structure of the tabs you have sorted into different panels when closing and reopening a browser session, requiring you to potentially reorganise large numbers of tabs or close the affected browser windows and attempt to load a saved snapshot of them, wasting a lot of your time.
As other reviewers have already mentioned, this problem doesn't appear to be an issue if you only use small numbers of tabs.
I tried this add-on after being a long time 'Tree Tabs' user (which handles large numbers of tabs reliably) and was hoping Sidebery would be a potential replacement with more QoL features.
Unfortunately Sidebery's inability to reliably save and restore browser session tab structures with large numbers of tabs means I would not recommend this to anyone who browses with large numbers of tabs.
Hopefully this issue can be fixed as Sidebery has a lot of good things going in its favour (e.g. clean UI, snapshot save system, panel sorting, containers) however until this critical issue is fixed the user experience is frustrating and wastes their time.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Manu, 12 days agoAwesome organizing addon, lots of options to set it up perfectly to overcome what Firefox lacks. Recently coming from the Chromium world after a long journey there, I forgot how underdeveloped Firefox can be, but addons like this are here to fix that and more, make it even better. Great job!

I searched the web for a beginners guide but found nothing.
If I ever find such a guide, I may give it another try. - Rated 5 out of 5by Fridah, a month agoThe single most important usability addon Ive ever encountered! I am quite stoked that Firefox will bring Treestyles to the native Browser.
I encountered some quirks with the Addon sometimes, like after closing hundreds of Tabs that the "x" button of a tab doesnt work any longer and you got to restart the browser,
or the quirk that if you restore a previous session due to accidently closing the window, that all the temporary container tabs are sitting ducks without the tmp-container wrapped around them - the tabs than need to be relaunched in a new created tab that hosts a tmp-container.
But despite that, I never lost any tab or anything!
Great addon - and my goto on every machine since ever!
With some usercss you can even get rid of the tab-bar, which is great to save vertical space and make use of wasted pixels for website content!
I still prefer Sideberry over the native Firefox "Vertical Tab" feature: It takes less space, allows for grouping, better shows grouped tabs, allows for colors, and actually has so many settings that you will be overwhelmed at first!
