Firefox Multi-Account Containers by Firefox

by Steve Lavendar, 2 months agoCame across this one a couple of months ago, thinking that's just what I've been looking for: an extension that allows me to quickly bookmark (right-click or keyboard shortcut would be nice) a site into “containers” (for lack of a better description).
Alas, this one turns out to be a bit like one those earlier Chinese apps I had to deal with while living & teaching there:
Great idea(s)! Though execution suc*s!
Example: while the initial premise of being able to create separate accounts for separate purposes kinda works, the extension doesn't seem to be able to store bookmarks in their related containers. As soon as I close & reopen Firefox the containers are once again empty, and I need to re-research for the sites I was looking for. To make matters worse, there doesn't seem to be an option to drag n drop existing (or new) bookmarks to related containers. Guess we gotta wait for an AI, or otherwise intelligent, solution.
Would be a great extension if it would offer an intuitive way to bookmark & save sites into relevant containers (and keep them there after closing FF).
Then again, I probably didn’t get the initial purpose of this extension, and might be looking in the wrong place, or perhaps I just don’t get what’s it trying to offer. Cheers.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Kemar Christie, 11 hours agoThis works flawlessly, no issues here. Would love to see more icons though so i can have more containers that arent repeating icons. Let us use emojis instead or add our own icon. Also huge thing to add. make the containers use seperate extensions. This would then replicate the profliels feature but make it all unified from one profile.

- Rated 3 out of 5by grace46202, 21 days agoWorks great, but the UI/UX and featuresets could be way better, such as grouping containers, more colour choices, subdomain wildcards in the allow list, inverted allow list ("never open in this container"), etc. Managing lots of containers gets very tedious.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Holger Böhnke, 23 days agoThis is one of my most used and most needed Extensions. So useful to login into the same site using two or more accounts. If you pin the tab and allow cookies for the site to be stored you have your app - like teams in two tenants or outlook with different accounts - right there at your fingertips when you open Firefox. Must have for web developers that need to login into frontend and backend at the same time.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 17230081, a month agoReally great, but could use some polish. You really don't need a fullscreen warning that a site was previously set to open in a container. I know that it is in that container - that is the point (plus you have indicators already, really not hard to figure out). And when I limit a container to designated sites I still want to be able to open a tab into that container via the left click menu
