- Rated 4 out of 5by aplatypus, 18 days agoI've just started to use this and it appears to be working as advertised. However it needs some documentation. The little video doesn't explain how to configure the preferences or even what they are intended to do????
Given the name, "Load Background Tabs on Select" -- I expect the default behaviour to 'hold' tab loading until it is selected. The Prefernces box suggest that I can add RegEx. Logically, I thought the regex would be patterns to match to "Allow Background Load", that is the opposite of the default "hold" behaviour. As far as I can see, that is not what "Preference" box does.
I went looking for some rudimentary documentation on the purpose of the "Preferences" RegEx list. none found. i recommend a few lines on the Add-on page to describe the use of the "Preferences" list. Then we would be a 5 star add-on :-) - Rated 5 out of 5by Hans Hansen, 5 months agoThis add-on is wonderful!
It's always bothered me that, when I "Open all Bookmarks" in a folder, FF tries to load all of them at the same time. - Rated 5 out of 5by BlackWinny, 7 months agoIt's a must! After more than twenty years and more than a hundred versions, Firefox is still lacking this indispensable feature ("open in a background new tab") in the contextual menu of the links! The feature exists via Ctrl+Shift+Click but it still doesn't exist in the menus! Incredible but true!
And not only does this add-on offer that sorely lacking “Open this link in a background new tab” menu, but it's also in deactivated state as long as you don't visit the tab!
That's great! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 11468626, 8 months agoReally useful add-on with its source publicly available

- Rated 5 out of 5by emptyother, a year agoWorked perfectly as I wanted it, so far. Played nice with sidebery and with Firefox's new vertical tabs.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16641284, 3 years agoAre you the dude on the superuser forum asking how to do exactly what this add-on does? So basically you didn't find what you were looking for, so you learned to code addons and made it yourself? If so, you are a golden god; mad respect. We need more people like you around. You helped me save my over 2000+ tab session that just decided to roll over and die. Thank you so much.
- Rated 5 out of 5by B Tang, 4 years agoWorks as advertised. When you Ctrl-click a bookmark folder, all the tabs in it open but do not load until you click them. Similar to HoldTab extension, and the former Load Tab on Select.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Sans Undertale, 4 years agoIt works. That may not sound like high praise, but nearly every other extension I've tried of similar functionality always found some way to conflict with Firefox and otherwise work in unwanted ways.
