- Rated 5 out of 5by Chris Grimmett, 4 years agoWhat an absolute Chad of a plugin! I live in a rural area and my only choice for internet is very low quality, low bandwidth, with high packet loss. For a reliable Twitch stream, I'm stuck with 160p.
With the default twitch client, I can't even have chat open because having chat open will cause video buffering. Alternate Player for Twitch.tv fixes that, with an assortment of features that optimize bandwidth usage. I still can't watch HD, but at least I don't have any buffering with this player!
The audio-only mode is also a godsend because some smaller streamers don't have a 160p option. I would be completely unable to watch their streams without this plugin. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15679072, 4 years agoPlease add redirection from stream raids, autoplay functions of vods to make this an absolute banger, thanks for this!
- Rated 5 out of 5by hekichan, 5 years agoHave a slow net, so I really like the buffering settings and how you can change it to your liking. Hardly see buffering anymore. And no ads which is great.
But, the question I have is, the player is constantly in theater mode with no option from what I've seen to get out, so in order for me to switch streams I need to go back to the home page or open another twitch tab which is inconvenient. Anyway to see my followers tab while watching a stream? Thanks - Rated 5 out of 5by Vagoane, 5 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Michael, 5 years agoThis is an amazing extension. Everything is super smooth, low CPU usage, and it's just an infinitely better experience than the bloated official Twitch player. The only issue I have with it is that it seems to have a significant delay in regards to the chat and the stream.

- Rated 5 out of 5by b_zy, 5 years agoSeems to be working once again. Even if it eventually doesn't work, I'm very happy the work is being put in to combat the amazon ad apocalypse.
- Rated 5 out of 5by ocho, 5 years agoRe-installed the addon, works without problems!
Make this add-on great (again!). Loving it! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16274713, 5 years agoThis is such a good addon with a hardworking dev playing cat and mouse with Twitch on a daily basis it seems - don't leave a negative review just because the addon worked perfectly up until now! Leave a positive review for all the free quality/experience improvements you've gotten until now.
- Rated 5 out of 5by JD, 5 years agoAbsolutely fantastic addon that the author regularly updates to work around Twitch's terrible ad-filled experience. This fixes everything. Get it!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13271988, 5 years agoActually I had to realize how good it is when it suddenly stopped working. Absolutely 5 stars. I can confirm it works with new Twitch API if you reinstall this addon.
- Rated 5 out of 5by NisTa, 5 years agoRe-install the extension. It finally works now. Thank you for this amazing tool CoolCmd.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Sarioah, 5 years agoEDIT: Developer has fixed the API issue, player is working again, actual review to follow.
This extension has proven to be a godsend for me. Using satellite internet, twitch's own player has been broken for years. The control this player offers over the video buffer is absolutely fantastic for dealing with a "quirky" internet connection.
Many thanks to the developer for enabling me to enjoy channels on twitch.tv <3 - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14337368, 5 years ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by mrgear, 5 years agoPress F to pay respects. This was the best solution I've ever found, it blocked ads, avoided twitch's stupid algorithm that reduced quality/stopped player when not on the tab and abusive RAM consume by Twitch.tv it self. I hope somehow developer can find a way to bring it back even if it backs without the adblocker feature. Alexander today, Alexander tomorow, Alexander Forever <3
- Rated 5 out of 5by Phoenix-y, 5 years agoTwitch is relentless in its war against adblockers. This is a Twitch-being-Amazon thing and not an add-on issue. Adblocker developers have their work cut out for them since they're combating Amazon for their own relevancy. This add on is great and hopefully they update it soon.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16597289, 5 years agoWorked great ever since I first downloaded it, none of the freezing or lagging problems I had with the default player. Looks like Twitch disabled it somehow, hope it's back up soon.
