It works best if you select a little bit of text at a time. It has a habit of repeating pages frequently. You can not select all then have it read back all. it will get confused or max out at the allowed character limit for reading back. I honestly wish there were more options out there. Over the years it was difficult to find stuff like this. I was allowed to use a text to speech program in school but it was the approved ones. Now a days due to visually impaired people it is required by dshs law to have it on your computer. I am glad more options are out there than there use to be. Speech to text programs are awesome. My typing speed is so slow these programs have increased my productivity. These are pretty reasonable requests to request for.

Would usually give it higher stars but it's stopped working on Firefox mobile since the last update (Jan 2024). I have reported and it's been a couple days so I'm reviewing to raise awareness. - Βαθμολογία 1 από 5από MJ, 2 χρόνια πρινDoes not work at all. It crashes immediately after selecting the addon.

Please Add Persian language too. It is the same alphabet as Arabic - different pronunciation. - Βαθμολογία 5 από 5από Marc K., 2 χρόνια πρινGreat plugin which also reads PDFs. Google login to use premium voices works fine for me. Make sure to select one of the Google Translate voices somewhere at the bottom of the selection box.

Okay overall with all things considered, this is currently among the most easy to use TTS (Text to Speech) addons
Pros:
- Easy to use, works fine with a google translated page, easily identifies what you want to read
- You can use Google Wavenet, Amazon Polly & IBM Watson voices with it, if you have API access (all 3 of them have a free tier)
- Has a dark background pop-up that shows the text in a simple readable format alongside speech
Cons:
- Biggest con is that it doesn't use the new Microsoft voices that come with Windows Narrator. It only uses the old Zira, Adam, voices which are of lower quality.
- No way to add a custom Offline voice model. The option of 'Custom Voice is for the online APIs'
- I heard somewhere, that even in offline mode, it does uses some google apis, but haven't checked myself. Given it is recommended by Mozilla officially, I guess its alright for non-security scenarios.
