    If you don't want your favorites to be constantly sent to GOOGLE don't enable icons.

    Also the fact that it can connect to Google without having proper browser permissions for that is very alarming.

    This option is disabled by default and must be specifically enabled by the user.

    So, wait, you went to the Settings, clicked "Allow Google" to allow the extension to send requests to google (for favicons),
    and are now complaining that the extension sends requests to google???

    Very simple add-on, but very useful. You'd think you wouldn't need something like this, but speed dials/bookmarks have become extremely annoying and bloated with garbage you don't want or need. Visually very customizable as well as far as I can tell, but I've never needed to use it nor am I capable enough.

    I've been using it for a year without any problems except with the last 0.13.8 update: The text on my bookmark titles used to be a clean more uniform size and truncated when it was too long, but now it adjusts text size based on how much room it has to fit the entire title making it look weird and unreadable.

    Thank you for the review. Yes I changed the text that shows up on "text thumbnails" in the last version. Before it was a combination of domain/subdomain, now it's the title of the bookmark. The reason was that on ad-hoc bookmarks that I sometimes add it was difficult to say which link was which. E.g. if you create bookmarks to let's say 2 of your emails in gmail - before the change - the thumbs would look exactly the same. Now they should contain the title (so the title of the emails) so they should be different.
    There is, however, some room for improvement - like you mentioned - cropping the text that appears on a thumb should be helpful, as very long titles do look weird. That is something that will be fixed soon.

    Does exactly what is says. No excessive permissions, no bs.
    Only one thing - it desperately needs a feature to get favicons for stored bookmark's domain.

    For small favicons in lists - you need to enable google service permission in Privacy settings.
    For thumbnails-type favicons - not gonna happe as I explained many times in Github issues. Main reason is: privacy (a 3rd party service would read your ip and the urls from your bookmarks) and firefox extension does not allow to get favicons directly.

    Does the job and is customizable, but it loads a bit slow.

    Edit: I have to be more specific, because "a bit slow" may lead to some confusion. I have had 24 top sites on my Top Sites since now. I know exactly where everything is, so when I open a new tab my cursor is where I want to before it loads. I now have 28 bookmarks (7x4 grid) and a docked folder of 8 bookmarks. It takes less than a second to load, but enough to be noticeable when I'm in a hurry.

    The only reason it would be slow is when you have too many bookmarks (e.g. >200). But that is firefoxe's fault as its API to fetch bookmarks gets proportionally slower the more bookmarks you have.

    Unless you can code CSS there is not much customization for the average user. I'd just like the ability to set tile colours individually and perhaps adjust corner roundedness. I'm sure others can do these things which is why I'm giving it full marks.

    Exactly what is says on the tin. You need to chose a location (such as the Bookmarks Toolbar, Bookmarks Menu, or any folder you created) from which the extension will read the bookmarks rather than cherry-picking certain ones. Easy work-around: create a folder with duplicates of only the desired bookmarks. This extension is a little gem hidden in the endless list of search results. Slick, easy to customize, no fuss, and regularly updated. Perfect, indeed.

    Really nice!

    Would be great to get following features:
    - Search bar at top (alternate option to search icon)
    - Search when you type (alternate option without icon and search bar)
    - Auto generate thumbnails (optional setting)
    - Add dynamic wallpaper (Like Bing Daily Wallpaper, with choice of multiple sources)
    - Cut and resize of manually added thumbnails

    This would make it outstanding. Still going with it right now and loving it! Thank you.

    I found it for a long time and almost missed it. It seems that there are some keywords missing in the introduction, such as: bookmarks, speed dial, start bookmark home.
    Some feature request:
    - Custom animation time, animation time is too long for me.
    - Remember the folder location.
    - Some custom CSS are added by default:

    }

    }

    Turns out you don't need access to all data on all tabs to create bookmarks page.
    Turns out you don't need "groups" since we have those "folders" old timers use.

    When "themes" feature gets added this will be the shit.

    PERFECT. The name says it all.
    edit: actually, I (don't) want to nitpick, but if the tab name could be just "New Tab" I'd appreciate it.
    disclaimer: I tried to just change the index.html myself, however firefox removed the extension..
